Lahore: A female student of a private university located on Raiwind Road attempted suicide by jumping from the rooftop of the university building on Tuesday. She was immediately shifted to a hospital in critical condition, where her condition remains serious.
According to hospital authorities, the student sustained a severe head injury and is currently unconscious. Doctors confirmed that she has suffered fractures to some bones in her back and her knee. Due to the critical nature of her injuries, she was later transferred to Lahore General Hospital for further treatment.

Police officials stated that the 21-year-old student, identified as Fatima, jumped from the second floor of the private university. Mobile phone videos circulating from inside the university show security guards carrying the injured student following the incident.
After the incident, the university administration temporarily closed the campus, while students gathered outside the premises in protest. Upon receiving information, police and forensic teams arrived at the scene and began collecting evidence. Several students also raised complaints regarding the university administration following the incident.
Police officials confirmed that CCTV footage is being obtained and a thorough investigation into the matter is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.
University Registrar Ali Aslam stated that Fatima had taken admission in September and her syllabus had not yet been completed. He added that no conclusions could be drawn until the inquiry is finalized.
