The Meteorological Department says a heatwave is likely to affect most parts of Sindh between June 8 and June 12. The heat is expected to intensify over the coming days.

In Karachi, the maximum temperature may reach around 38°C today. Officials also warned that temperatures could climb further, with some forecasts suggesting levels as high as 43°C during the peak of the heatwave.

The city has already been experiencing warm conditions. Over the past 24 hours, the minimum temperature was recorded at 30°C, showing that nighttime relief has also been limited.

Humidity levels remain high in Karachi. The moisture in the air is around 72 percent. This is making the weather feel more uncomfortable and increasing the heat index.

Sea breezes are currently blowing at about 15 kilometers per hour. However, officials say this wind speed is not strong enough to significantly reduce the heat intensity.

Weather authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor activity during peak sunlight hours. They have also urged people to stay hydrated and take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
