Islamabad: A free Nikah and registration lounge has been set up at Pakistan’s Asaan Khidmat Markaz where all relevant departments are available under one roof.
According to details, under the vision of the Prime Minister, the National Information Technology Board has inaugurated a special and free “Marriage Registration Lounge” at the Pakistan Asaan Khidmat Markaz located in Sector G-9 of the federal capital.
This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to make public services easier and more affordable for ordinary citizens. Officials said that this new facility has unique features where the entire process of marriage and Nikah registration will be completed in a peaceful and organized environment completely free of cost.
To ensure immediate completion of legal marriage procedures, the lounge includes not only a government Nikah registrar but also representatives from the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, NADRA and other relevant departments, all present in one place.
Additionally, right after the Nikah, all travel and legal records related to the marriage are processed immediately into the databases of NADRA and the DC Office eliminating the need for citizens to visit government offices later.
Officials stated that this service is primarily designed to support low-income and underprivileged families in Islamabad as citizens often have to pay heavy expenses and fees at private halls, hotels or other venues for marriage ceremonies and registration.
The Asaan Khidmat Markaz lounge aims to completely relieve such families from these additional financial burdens.
It is worth noting that on January 15 this year, the modern Pakistan Asaan Khidmat Markaz in Sector G-9, Islamabad was formally inaugurated. It is a “one-window public service facility” designed to provide fast services, reduce bureaucratic paperwork and bring multiple government departments under one roof.
The center was already offering 64 public services through 12 different government departments including NADRA, tax services and police documentation and now marriage registration has also been added with plans to further expand its services in the future.
