The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Pakistan Customs have launched measures to prevent incorrect declarations of imported textile material under the scheme.
According to an official statement, the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has welcomed the customs action against misuse of the EFS.
The statement said customs officials detected cases in which grey fabric was imported under incorrect descriptions, despite the material being excluded from the scheme.
Pakistan Customs said imported fabric samples are also being sent for laboratory testing where necessary to verify their composition and declared specifications.
The customs authorities said continuous monitoring is being carried out to ensure that the Export Facilitation Scheme is used strictly for its intended purposes.
Officials stressed that the scheme is designed to facilitate exporters and support legitimate export-oriented production. Any attempt to misuse its provisions through incorrect declarations or other means will be dealt with according to the law.
The latest action reflects efforts by the FBR and Pakistan Customs to strengthen oversight of imports and prevent abuse of export-related concessions.
