In Multan, it has been uncovered that 32 teachers from government schools failed to report for duty at examination centers during the 2024 intermediate annual exams.
The Punjab Education Department has instructed relevant authorities to take action against these absent teachers under the PEDA Act 2006.
A letter, signed by the Controller of Examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Multan, was dispatched to Faiz Abbas Khan, the CEO of the District Education Authority in Multan.
The letter directed him to initiate proceedings against teachers who were absent from their supervisory roles at examination centers. Attached to the letter was a list of absent teachers, comprising 26 PSTs, 4 ESTs, and 3 SSTs, all assigned to various public schools in the district.
