KARACHI: A fire broke out in the medicine ward of the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in Karachi early Tuesday morning, completely destroying the facility but causing no loss of life.

According to the hospital administration, the blaze erupted at around 4:00 a.m., reportedly due to a short circuit. Hospital staff quickly evacuated the medicine ward, located on the third floor of the building, to ensure the safety of patients and employees.

Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. However, the fire caused extensive damage to the ward and resulted in significant financial losses.

Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage, while further investigations are underway to confirm the exact cause of the fire.
