Four-day IDEAS expo 2022 begins in Karachi

International Defence Exhibition and seminar IDEAS-22 has started in Karachi and will last till November 18.

The Defense Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) organized the event, which brings together defence firms from all around the world to demonstrate their most recent technological advancements.

The show is attended by over 500 people from 57 different countries and 285 delegations from 64 different nations. The 11th edition of the expo features products from defence manufacturers in Turkey, China, the United States, the United Kingdom, European Union, the Middle East, and Central Asia.

At the expo, Pakistan’s cutting-edge military equipment, including tanks, armoured personnel carriers, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), air defence systems, and missile systems, is on display.

IDEAS exhibits a wide variety of defence systems, ranging from equipment used in third-world countries to the most sophisticated technology from the west and showcases the technology of tomorrow and innovations in defence with several thousand weapon systems and items of equipment on display.

The event provides an ideal interactive platform for defence forces to access the best products and technologies available to cater for their respective defence requirements.

It is the most important marketplace for presenting innovative ideas facilitating meetings and networking sessions with numerous high-profile delegates, policymakers, diplomats and defence procurement experts all on one platform.

IDEAS has witnessed 8 times increase with 524 exhibitors from 45 countries and 3 times increase in the space booked at 12,600 sqm in 2018 with 65 exhibitors in its premier edition in 2000. Besides trade visitors, more than 262 high-level delegations from 51 countries visited the exhibition.

Countries such as China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Jordon, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Türkiye, UAE, Ukraine, USA and host Pakistan established their exclusive country pavilions at the Expo Centre.
