Free education for grade 7-12 students approved by KP cabinet

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved free education at top-tier schools for high-performing students from government institutions in grades seven to twelve. This decision was taken at the fourth cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

In an effort to modernize vehicle registration, the cabinet also agreed to replace manual registration boxes with smart cards for automatic vehicle registration.

During the meeting, the cabinet also made several other key decisions. They approved the purchase of 600,000 metric tons of wheat, setting the price for 40 kilograms at Rs3,900 to address food security and ensure stable wheat supplies in the province.

The cabinet gave the go-ahead to restore the 17MW Ranolia Hydropower Project in Lower Kohistan and to acquire 327 kanals of land for the 88MW Gabral-Kalam Hydropower Project in Swat.

Additionally, the use of funds from the former FATA Development Authority under the Accelerated Implementation Program (AIP) in merged districts was approved.

Finally, the cabinet agreed to acquire over 34 kanals of land for a new judicial complex in Panah Kot, Upper Dir, to improve access to justice in the region.
