A Gaza strike killed a Palestinian man and his wife early on Tuesday, and several people nearby suffered wounds, medical sources said.

Missiles hit an apartment close to the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in western Gaza City. Medics identified the dead as Akram Yassin and his wife, Dina Yassin.

Their bodies reached Al-Shifa Hospital together with four injured Palestinians, three of them women.

How the Gaza strike unfolded

Witnesses described a helicopter that fired at least one missile into a family home beside the hospital. Fire broke out afterwards, and civil defense crews put it out.

Meanwhile, artillery also pounded fields past the eastern edge of the Bureij refugee camp. Nobody reported casualties there straight away.

In the Tuffah neighborhood of eastern Gaza City, the army kept up artillery fire overnight. Military vehicles and quadcopter drones also shot at homes and tents where displaced families shelter. Witnesses heard explosions as soldiers blew up buildings in areas they hold.

Other attacks across the territory

The violence reached beyond Gaza City. Israeli warships fired at the northern coast, and army vehicles shot heavily toward the Sudaniya area in the northwest.

In the south, a medical source at Nasser Hospital said a girl suffered wounds when troops opened fire on tents near Khan Younis. Witnesses added that tanks hit homes and tents in several parts of that city, and bulldozers tore down structures east of it.

A day earlier, a drone strike on a crowd of civilians in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood left one man dead and two hurt. Separately, gunfire toward tents southwest of Khan Younis wounded one more person.

Toll since the ceasefire

This Gaza strike came while a truce has held on paper since October 2025. The Health Ministry in Gaza says Israeli breaches have claimed 1,522 lives and left 5,421 people injured since the truce began.

Across the war that began in October 2023, the toll tops 74,000 dead and 175,000 injured. Roughly 90% of civilian infrastructure now lies damaged or destroyed.

Israel accuses Hamas of rearming and carrying out attacks that break the truce, and it has raised the tempo of its strikes in recent weeks. In contrast, Hamas rejects those claims and says Israel undermines the peace deal.

The US-brokered ceasefire from last year foresees rebuilding the territory in time. However, talks on disarming Hamas and pulling back Israeli troops have made little headway.

Earlier this month, the pattern repeated. Medics said an air raid on a tent in Mawasi, near Khan Younis, killed three people. Health officials said another strike a day later left at least two Palestinians dead in the south. The Israeli military said it targeted militants in both cases, yet it gave no further detail. Israel says militants have killed four of its soldiers in Gaza during the truce. No Israeli statement on Tuesday’s Gaza strike had appeared by the time of this report.

For now, families near Al-Shifa mourn another loss, and the ceasefire holds only in name. Shelling and demolitions continue in several districts.
