Islamabad: The federal government has made a significant decision regarding the import of new cars allowing the import of used cars up to 2000 kilometres.
The Ministry of Industries and Commerce has amended the Import Policy Order 2022 in the current circumstances.
Previously, the federal government allowed the import of cars used up to 500 kilometres but now a used car with up to 2000 kilometres will be considered a new car.
It is pertinent to mention that after the amendment in the Import Policy Order 2022 unregistered and used cars up to 2000 kilometres can be imported.
This decision marks a significant shift in the government’s policy towards the importation of used vehicles opening up opportunities for consumers and the automotive industry alike. It reflects a pragmatic approach towards meeting the transportation needs of the populace while also considering environmental concerns and economic factors.
