The government has revised downward the profit rates on several National Savings schemes, reducing returns for investors under a new official notification.
According to the notification, the annual profit rate on the Bahbood Savings Certificate has been reduced to 12.96%. The same annual return will also apply to the Pensioners’ Benefit Account, which is widely used by retired government employees and senior citizens seeking a stable source of income.
The Regular Income Certificate (RIC) has also seen a reduction in its monthly profit rate. Under the revised structure, the annual rate has been fixed at 11.52%. As a result, an investment of Rs100,000 in the scheme will now generate a monthly profit of Rs960.
The government has also updated the profit structure for the Special Savings Certificate (SSC). Investors will receive an annual profit rate of 11.2% during the first six months of the investment period. For the remaining six months, the profit rate will increase to 12.6%, according to the notification.
