Pakistan Women’s team opener Gull Feroza has been reprimanded and handed one demerit point for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), Gull Feroza committed a Level 1 Code of Conduct violation during Pakistan’s match against Australia.
The ICC stated that after being dismissed, the Pakistani batter expressed her frustration by aggressively throwing her bat and gloves near the team dugout, an act deemed to be a breach of the code of conduct.
The ICC further said that Gull Feroza admitted the offense and accepted the proposed sanction eliminating the need for a formal hearing.
Under the ICC Code of Conduct, a Level 1 offense can result in a reprimand, a fine or demerit points. As a result, one demerit point has been added to Gull Feroza’s disciplinary record.
It is worth noting that demerit points remain on a player’s record for a specified period and accumulating multiple points can lead to stricter penalties or even suspension.
