Harry Styles has come under criticism from some fans after artwork printed on the back of a concert ticket appeared to show imagery that reminded people of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, just days before the 25th anniversary of the tragedy.

The controversy emerged after fans shared images of the ticket for Styles’ Wednesday concert online. The artwork appears to depict a yellow vehicle flying above or near the Empire State Building, prompting some social media users to draw an association with the attacks on the World Trade Center and other locations in the United States.

The timing of the design has particularly concerned fans, as the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks falls on September 11, 2026. Several users on X questioned how the artwork was approved and argued that using such imagery so close to the anniversary was insensitive.

“This pic on 9/11 week is diabolical,” one user wrote, while another questioned who had approved the artwork.

Another social media user described the decision as “extremely inappropriate ,” given the timing of the concert and the anniversary. A further commenter said there was “nothing funny about 9/11” and criticized any suggestion that the imagery should be viewed as humorous.

However, not everyone believed the ticket artwork was deliberately referencing the attacks. One user pointed out that the design may never have been intended as a reference to September 11 and suggested that the connection could have resulted from unfortunate timing.

The debate comes as Styles continues his extensive “Together, Together” tour. The English singer began a 30-night residency at Madison Square Garden on August 26, with the scheduled run set to continue through October 31.

Styles has also been traveling internationally as part of his current touring schedule, with recent performances in cities including London, Mexico City, Amsterdam and São Paulo. Australia is among the upcoming destinations on his tour itinerary.

The singer is touring following the release of his latest album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally, which arrived earlier this year and marked his latest musical project.

Despite the controversy surrounding the ticket design, Styles has continued to express his appreciation for his supporters. On Wednesday, he announced that he plans to return to the road in 2027, thanking fans for making his 2026 performances more meaningful than he had expected.

“I love playing music, I love being with all of you and being a part of the love and joy you all create together every night,” Styles told fans.

The singer added that he feels “the luckiest person in the world” to continue sharing live performances with his audience.

Styles ended his message by saying he “can’t wait” to continue dancing with fans and expressed gratitude for their continued “love and support” throughout his career.

While the ticket artwork has triggered strong reactions online, it remains unclear whether the design was intended to reference the September 11 attacks or was simply an unfortunate coincidence in timing.
