Heavy rain triggers flood fears in twin cities

Islamabad and Rawalpindi have received heavy rainfall, causing concern over possible flooding in several areas.

Residents living along Nullah Lai have been advised to move to safer places. People in vulnerable areas have also been urged to remain alert and follow official instructions.

The heavy rain has also disrupted routine activities in Rawalpindi. Authorities have announced a holiday for educational institutions in the city.

All government and private educational institutions in Rawalpindi will remain closed today. The decision has been taken amid the ongoing heavy rainfall and the risk of urban flooding.

The authorities have urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during the rain. People have also been advised to stay away from flooded roads, drains and other dangerous areas.

Emergency services and relevant departments are monitoring water levels in Nullah Lai and other vulnerable locations. Further action may be taken if the water level continues to rise.
