For a leading actor starring in a successful prime-time television drama, it is often easy for fame, admiration, and constant public attention to inflate one’s ego. However, despite being in the spotlight due to his popular character Zain in the hit drama “Mahnoor”, actor Humayoun Ashraf has managed to maintain a grounded and realistic outlook on life, deliberately distancing himself from the glamour and excesses often associated with celebrity culture.

Humayoun Ashraf believes that the true challenge of fame is not achieving success but staying unaffected by it. He has openly expressed a strong fear of losing touch with normal life, explaining that he consciously avoids what he describes as the “abnormal” lifestyle that can sometimes accompany stardom. According to him, maintaining humility is essential, and he does not allow public recognition or lack thereof to disturb his mental balance.

He has stated that his outlook on fame is deeply spiritual and rooted in gratitude. Humayoun also expressed concern about the younger generation, suggesting that modern technology has reduced the value of real-life struggle and experience. He believes that today’s youth often miss out on the journey of gradually achieving small goals because so much is instantly available through smartphones, laptops, and the internet. In contrast, he feels that his own generation found happiness in even the smallest achievements, which felt deeply rewarding at the time.

While he acknowledged that the script worked conceptually, he felt that certain transitions in the character’s emotional journey—particularly Zain’s shift between Mehwish and Mahnoor—lacked clarity in execution. In his interpretation, Zain may never have truly loved Mehwish, viewing her more as a convenient option rather than a deep emotional connection.

On a personal note, Humayoun shared a humorous take on single life, saying it comes with many advantages, including freedom from everyday decisions like choosing meals with a partner. However, despite his jokes, he remains a strong supporter of marriage, describing it as a beautiful and meaningful bond. He believes that companionship is a natural human need and that marriage plays an important role in emotional fulfillment.

Currently, the actor is working on multiple projects simultaneously, filming daily without breaks, including weekends. With two major dramas expected to air around the same time, he admits the workload is intense and physically exhausting. Once his current commitments are completed, he plans to take a well-deserved break to recover and recharge.
