Hyderabad Division hit by cold wave

HYDERABAD: Drop in murcery coupled with gusty winds has turned the weather chilly in Thatta, Sujawal and Badin district of lower Sindh. Met department has forecast further drop in the murcery during upcoming week.

People living in plain areas have resorted to natural remedies to keep themselves warm and avoid the onslaught of flue and seasonal fever. The local markets witnessed rise in sale of jaggery, dry fruit, carrots and sweet potatoes.

Doctors have advised public to take measures to protect themselves from current cold wave. They have urged people suffering from chronic diseases to avoid unnecessary movement. Surge in cold has led to late opening of shops in Sujawal and Thatta districts following which the business activities have turned dull. On the other hand parents demanded closure of schools as they did not want to risk the health of their children.
