An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in three cases, including the Jinnah House attack case, until May 3.

During the hearing, the duty judge Arshad Javed considered the interim bail pleas related to the attack on Jinnah House and three other cases.

The court also directed for the former Prime Minister Imran Khan to mark his attendance in the three cases via video link from Adiala Jail.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC) was informed that the Punjab government had allocated seven cells for Imran Khan in Adiala Jail, with 14 security personnel appointed for his protection.

According to the Attorney General Punjab Khalid Ishaq, six additional cells were arranged for Imran Khan to ensure adequate security. Additionally, while one personnel typically guards 10 inmates in Adiala Jail, 14 police personnel have been assigned to Imran Khan’s security.

Events on May 9th saw violent clashes erupting across Pakistan following the arrest of the former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan at the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Protests ensued in various cities, with party workers expressing agitation over their leader’s arrest. In response, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad called upon the armed forces to maintain law and order.

Notably, during one such protest, ‘PTI workers’ targeted Army installations and the Corps Commander’s house in Lahore, also known as Jinnah House.
