Interior Minister enforces zero-tolerance approach to over-billing

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has issued strict orders for a zero-tolerance policy on over-billing nationwide. He stated that no instances of overcharging will be overlooked, irrespective of the circumstances.

The Minister has directed decisive action against all personnel involved in over-billing throughout Pakistan, stating that there will be no compromises made in this regard.

Furthermore, Mohsin Naqvi has instructed an intensified crackdown on electricity theft across the country, urging the officers of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to exhibit full efficiency in combating both over-billing and electricity theft. He remarked that over-billing amounts to mistreatment of the people, and those responsible for such acts do not merit any leniency. Immediate relief for the public on issues related to over-billing is deemed essential, as stated by the Minister.

To address incidents of electricity theft, particularly in sensitive areas of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Naqvi has assured the provision of security to the FIA. This measure aims to control the prevalence of such unlawful activities and ensure the protection of citizens’ rights in those regions.
