The semi-official Tasnim News Agency said that five suspected spies have been arrested in Lorestan province by the intelligence of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
In a separate incident, a man was arrested by police in the city of Rey on suspicion of working for Israel’s Mossad intelligence service. The suspect, an Afghan citizen and an undergraduate university student, is said to have been in possession of documents concerning training in making drones and bombs on his mobile phone.
At the same time, Iran’s Border Command issued a statement calling on neighboring states to cease hostile operations from their domains against Iran.
The statement added that Iran’s Border Police, in coordination with the country’s armed forces, has complete jurisdiction over border movements and is putting all crossings under active surveillance.
