Islamabad administration issues another show-cause notice to JUI-F

Capital admin says will register case against rally organizers for violating NOC terms

The Islamabad administration has issued another show-cause notice to the organizers of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl rally, warning them that a case would be registered against the party for violating the terms and conditions of the No Objection Certificate.

On the other hand, the Islamabad administration issued a conditional NOC to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to hold a rally on March 28 in the capital’s H-9 sector. The NOC was issued after the party’s Islamabad Chapter President Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry submitted a request on March 24.

The officials said it was the second show-cause notice to the organizers of the JUI-F rally. The first notice was served on March 24 for violating the terms and conditions of the NOC when they set up stage on Srinagar Highway obstructing the road.

Replying to the March 25 notice, Mufti Abdullah gave assurances to the administration that the party would not block Srinagar Highway, the show cause notice said. It added that the Islamabad High Court had ordered that the state ensure compliance of the NOCs and take action against violators as per law.

The notice said that rally organizers violated the NOC terms and conditions by holding their event on March 27, and have proclaimed that they would continue to do so indefinitely. It said the organizers have also obstructed Srinagar Highway causing a hindrance to traffic.
