According to details, flight KTA-1732 lost contact with Karachi Air Traffic Control (ATC) while flying in Karachi’s airspace. Following the communication failure, authorities activated the emergency response plan.
The aircraft’s captain had informed ATC about a navigation system issue during the flight. The pilot requested radar vectoring assistance to help guide the aircraft safely.
Available information showed that at 16:17 UTC, the captain contacted Karachi ATC and reported the navigation problem. During the communication, the pilot also informed controllers that the aircraft was experiencing rolling movement.
The situation became critical shortly after the reported technical issue, and contact with the aircraft was eventually lost.
The Pakistani cargo plane crashed into the Arabian Sea on July 7, 2026. The aircraft was carrying five crew members, all of whom belonged to Karachi.
The crew included Captain Muhammad Rizwan Idrees, First Officer Faisal Mahmood, Loadmaster Muhammad Taufiq, Engineer Arif Siddiqui, and Muhammad Hamid.
