A sessions court in South Karachi has rejected the bail applications of two accused, Zeeshan and Sohail, in a narcotics case linked to main accused Anmol alias Pinky.
The accused were identified as alleged facilitators in the drug case. The court heard arguments from both sides during the hearing.
The defence lawyer argued that forensic analysis of the main accused’s mobile phone had revealed the involvement of other co-accused persons. It was also claimed that financial transactions from the accused accounts were traced to the main accused and others.
However, the court observed that, based on initial evidence, the accused appeared to be involved in the case. It noted that both bank records and digital digital evidence were available against them.
The court further stated that under the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) Act, assisting in drug production or trafficking is also considered a criminal offence.
It added that an interim challan has already been submitted in the case. At this stage, granting bail to the accused was not appropriate.
According to police officials, the case has been registered at Garden Police Station in Karachi. The investigation is ongoing.
