Karachi: Police have arrested a highly wanted criminal allegedly involved in planning the target killing of a police sub-inspector, while his accomplice managed to escape during a targeted operation in the SITE Area of Karachi.
According to a spokesperson for Keamari Police, the operation was conducted in the area of Hider Chali in Pathan Colony under the jurisdiction of SITE-A Police Station. During the intelligence-led raid, officers arrested a suspect identified as Faisal alias “Manager”, who is reportedly a record-hold criminal. His associate, identified as Sajjad, succeeded in fleeing the scene.
Police also recovered an illegal pistol along with ammunition from the possession of the arrested suspect.
Officials stated that the operation was carried out after credible intelligence reports indicated that the suspect was planning the assassination of Sub-Inspector Naim Shah, who is currently posted at SITE-A Police Station.
Investigators revealed that the motive behind the alleged plot was revenge. The suspect’s nephew, Kashif, and his associate Zeeshan were previously killed in a police encounter on August 9, 2025, near Valika Road in the SITE Area. Authorities believe the suspect intended to retaliate by targeting the same officer linked to that operation.
A separate case (FIR No. 263/26) has already been registered against the suspect under sections 394, 511, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code at SITE-A Police Station.
Police further described the arrested suspect as a habitual offender with a long criminal record. He is allegedly involved in multiple cases of encounter killings, armed robbery, and illegal possession of weapons registered at various police stations, including Sir Syed, Gulberg, SITE-A, Orangi Town, Madina Colony, and Itehad Town.
Authorities confirmed that a fresh case under the Sindh Arms Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway to trace his absconding accomplice and dismantle the wider criminal network.
Police officials stated that intelligence-based operations will continue to eliminate organized criminal groups operating in the city, ensuring the safety of law enforcement personnel and citizens alike.
