King Charles has adopted a new strategy regarding his son, Prince Harry, following their secret recent phone call.
According to a report by Woman’s Day, insiders have disclosed fresh tensions behind the scenes regarding King Charles’ letter about Harry and Meghan’s royal status.
A source close to the matter has revealed that after Harry’s return to the UK last month, King Charles and Harry have not met directly. However, they have reportedly remained in secret contact by phone.
However, King Charles and Harry’s civil conversations quickly turned bitter once the monarch’s letter reiterating his son’s non-royal status was made public.
The royal source claimed: “Harry and Charles were in direct contact when they first arrived in the UK, but not anymore. Now their communication is back to going through one of his advisers after the last call became somewhat heated.”
The insider also revealed King Charles’ strategy, saying: “Their phone calls had been on a weekly basis and were nothing more than a typical exchange of pleasantries about the kids, their schooling and various logistics around seeing them. But since the Sussex statement, Charles is not engaging with Harry directly until ‘cooler heads prevail’.”
The new claims came days after a letter, authorised by Charles and sent to senior British officials, made clear that Harry and Meghan were no longer working members of the Royal Family.
A spokesperson for the couple said they had only been informed shortly before the letter was sent and were surprised by the decision.
