Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has accused the government of disrespecting judges and alleged that orders against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are implemented immediately, while court directives are ignored.
Addressing a gathering in Hangu, Afridi said police reached the location within 15 minutes following an order for the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan. He claimed that courts had provided two days for compliance with their orders, but the directives were ultimately “thrown into the dustbin.”
The chief minister said his government wanted equal application of the law for both the rich and the poor. He urged state institutions and the judiciary to consider the direction in which the country was heading.
Afridi also expressed concern over the country’s economic situation, saying industries were being damaged while people and capital were moving abroad. He claimed that the economy was deteriorating, unemployment among young people was increasing and farmers were facing severe financial difficulties.
The KP chief minister said his government would work to increase the province’s revenue to Rs200 billion. He stressed the need for stronger governance and economic measures to improve conditions for the people of the province.
