Kylie Jenner to lead Hulu thriller Bachelorette Weekend

Kylie Jenner is stepping into a major new acting role with Bachelorette Weekend, an upcoming thriller drama that is being developed for Hulu. The series is currently moving toward a straight-to-series order and will mark Jenner’s first major scripted acting project. She will also serve as an executive producer alongside her older sister, Kim Kardashian.

Bachelorette Weekend follows a group of close friends whose celebratory getaway takes a shocking turn when the bride is found dead in a swimming pool. What begins as a fun bachelorette trip quickly becomes a tense murder investigation, with everyone in the bride’s inner circle coming under suspicion.

Jenner is expected to play an important character in the mystery as she works to uncover what happened during the weekend. As the investigation develops, hidden secrets and complicated relationships begin to surface, making it difficult to determine who can be trusted.

The series is being developed by author and screenwriter Lauren Oliver, who is also writing the television adaptation. The project comes from Kapital Entertainment, led by producer Aaron Kaplan, and is being developed in partnership with 20th Television.

Bachelorette Weekend is based on an unpublished novel by Flora Collins. The book was developed through Oliver’s intellectual property packaging company, StoryGiants, before being adapted for television. Oliver is executive producing the series alongside Jenner, Kardashian and Kaplan, while Jaiden Kaplan is attached as co-executive producer.

For Jenner, the project represents an important step into scripted entertainment. Although she has spent much of her career in reality television and fashion, she has recently shown interest in expanding her work in the entertainment industry.

Jenner previously explored acting with a cameo in Charli XCX’s mockumentary film The Moment. She has also remained closely connected to the film and television world through public appearances and her relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet.

The upcoming thriller will also add another scripted project to Jenner’s existing relationship with Hulu. She is already a star and executive producer on The Kardashians, the reality series following the lives and careers of the Kardashian-Jenner family. The show is scheduled to return for its eighth season on October 8.

Jenner’s involvement in Bachelorette Weekend also follows a similar path taken by Kim Kardashian, who has increasingly moved from reality television into scripted acting and producing.

Kardashian currently stars in and executive produces the Hulu legal drama All’s Fair. The series is preparing to return for its second season in November. She is also attached to the upcoming Netflix film The Fifth Wheel, which she will star in and has helped produce.

In addition, Kardashian is executive producing Calabasas, an upcoming young adult drama series for Netflix. She is also involved with the unscripted series Team Moms: Baseball, which recently premiered on Paramount+.

With both sisters now building careers in scripted entertainment, Bachelorette Weekend could become an important project for Jenner as she establishes herself beyond reality television.

The series also expands Kapital Entertainment’s growing relationship with Hulu. The company is developing several other projects for the streaming platform, including the drama You Deserve to Know, starring Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley.

Kapital is also working on What Remains, a thriller featuring Kerry Washington. With its murder mystery storyline, ensemble cast potential and Jenner’s involvement both in front of and behind the camera, Bachelorette Weekend could give Hulu another high-profile thriller while introducing Jenner to a new audience as a scripted actress.
