LeBron James is embarking on a new chapter of his legendary NBA career, joining the Philadelphia 76ers at 41 as he targets a fifth championship in his record 24th season.
The new NBA campaign begins Tuesday as James prepares to bring his experience and leadership to Philadelphia, which is aiming to secure its first league title since 1983.
The four-time NBA champion confirmed his move in July after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers. He signed a two-year contract worth $8 million, making it clear that his primary motivation is to compete for another championship rather than financial rewards.
James has already won NBA titles with the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. A championship with Philadelphia would make him the first player to win titles with four different franchises.
The veteran superstar will join forces with Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown and V.J. Edgecombe, with the team determined to build a genuine championship contender.
James believes success will depend on consistent effort, teamwork and patience rather than individual statistics. He has also expressed his desire to help Embiid pursue his first NBA championship.
During his preseason debut for Philadelphia, James recorded 10 points, five assists and four rebounds in a 114-108 defeat against Brooklyn.
Acknowledging that developing chemistry takes time, James stressed that the team must remain committed to daily improvement and embrace the hard work required to compete at the highest level.
