A historic London property closely associated with former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan and the Goldsmith family has been placed on the market with an asking price of £25 million. The house, known as Ormeley Lodge, is located on Ham Common in Richmond, southwest London, and has long been connected to both British high society and Pakistan’s political history.
The early Georgian mansion is a 10 bedroom detached home covering more than 15,000 square feet. The property includes seven bathrooms, landscaped gardens and a separate cottage. It served as Khan’s London residence for many years during his marriage to Jemima Khan and continued to be used by him even after the couple separated.
According to a source close to the Goldsmith family, the decision to sell the property follows the death of Lady Annabel Goldsmith, Jemima Khan’s mother, who passed away in October 2025. The source said there was no longer a practical reason to keep such a large family home because Jemima now lives elsewhere in London and her two sons have their own separate homes. Despite the decision to sell, the family regards the property as a place filled with treasured memories and says Lady Annabel’s passing has left a significant void.
The house holds particular importance in Pakistan’s political history because it served as Imran Khan’s main base whenever he visited the United Kingdom for nearly two decades. During that time, he hosted political meetings at the property and regularly met journalists, party members and supporters. The residence also became the location from which Khan recorded several television messages and programmes for Geo News during its Pukaar campaign following the devastating floods that struck Pakistan in the mid 2000s.
Even after his divorce from Jemima Khan, Imran Khan continued using an annexe within the property during his visits to London. Reports suggest he stopped staying there around 2014 after remarrying and did not return to use it as his London residence again.
Over the years, the Richmond home also became the focus of political demonstrations. In 2014, protesters gathered outside the property while Khan was inside. Later, as political tensions involving Pakistan increased, the house witnessed several demonstrations organised by supporters of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz. These protests were often linked to ongoing political rivalries between supporters of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf and the Sharif family, whose London residence at Avenfield Apartments had also become a frequent site of demonstrations.
Jemima Khan publicly criticized those protests on several occasions, arguing that political disagreements should not be taken to the doorstep of her elderly mother’s private home. She maintained that Lady Annabel should not have been drawn into political disputes because the property was first and foremost a family residence.
Today, Ormeley Lodge remains one of the most recognizable private homes connected to both the Goldsmith family and Imran Khan’s years in British politics and public life. For the Goldsmiths, it represents decades of family history, while for many Pakistanis it recalls an important chapter in Khan’s political career when the house frequently served as a meeting place for discussions involving Pakistani politics outside the country.
The property is now entering a new chapter as it is offered for sale following the end of an era for the family that owned it for many years. Its connection to prominent figures in both British and Pakistani public life is likely to make it one of the most talked about residential listings in London’s luxury property market.
