SHUJAABAD: Police in Shujaabad have registered a case against a Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) official who is accused of sexually assaulting a young woman after allegedly deceiving her into accompanying him in his car.

According to police, the accused, identified as Mazhar, serves as a line superintendent at the Sikandarabad Sub-Division. The official allegedly offered to drop the woman at her home but instead took her to a secluded garden, where he allegedly assaulted her inside his vehicle.

Police said the woman raised an alarm, prompting nearby residents to gather at the location. The accused allegedly fled the scene after the commotion.

A case has been registered following the woman’s complaint, and police have launched legal proceedings to investigate the allegations and determine the facts of the incident.
