Mohammad Amir expresses gratitude for his comeback

Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has expressed his gratitude to a higher power as he prepares to make a comeback to international cricket after nearly four years.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Amir shared a photo of himself wearing a Pakistan jersey once again. “Starting in the name of Allah. Alhumdulilah, after almost four years,” he wrote.

Amir last played a T20I match against England on August 30, 2020.

Pakistan is scheduled to play New Zealand in the first of five T20Is on April 18 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Pakistan’s national cricket team’s foreign coaches will be announced following the upcoming home series against New Zealand.

Sources revealed on Tuesday that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalized its selection process for the foreign coaching staff.

According to sources, former South African coach Gary Kirsten will serve as the white-ball coach for Pakistan, while Australian former cricketer Jason Gillespie will take on the role of red-ball coach.

In addition to hiring foreign coaches, the PCB will also finalize the appointments of local coaches and other support staff for the Pakistan cricket team.
