Amir expressed his excitement about joining the franchise in a brief post on X (formerly Twitter).
The 33-year-old has represented Pakistan in 36 Tests, 61 One-Day Internationals and 62 T20 Internationals.
After obtaining a British passport last month, Amir also became a British citizen.
He has previously featured in The Hundred for London Spirit and Oval Invincibles taking six wickets in eight matches.
Meanwhile, Pakistani spinners Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq were also picked in the league draft. Sunrisers Leeds signed Abrar Ahmed while Birmingham Phoenix selected Usman Tariq.
