According to sources, the minister will leave for Iran today. Before his departure, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior officials in Islamabad.
Officials say Mohsin Naqvi is carrying a special message from Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The message is reportedly intended for senior Iranian leadership, including the country’s top authorities.
Sources further stated that the Prime Minister has also issued specific instructions to the interior minister regarding his discussions in Iran. The visit is expected to focus on strengthening communication and diplomatic coordination between the two countries.
This is not the first engagement between the two sides. Earlier, Mohsin Naqvi met Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Interior Ministers’ meeting. Both sides had discussed bilateral cooperation and regional issues during that meeting.
The upcoming visit to Tehran is being seen as a continuation of high-level diplomatic contacts between Pakistan and Iran, aimed at improving understanding and coordination on key regional matters.
