The father of murdered Karachi youth Mir Raza Ali Khan has vowed to continue his fight for justice saying the family has had his son’s grave exhumed and will pursue the case until those responsible are held accountable.

KARACHI: The father of murdered Karachi youth Mir Raza Ali Khan has vowed to continue his fight for justice saying the family has had his son’s grave exhumed and will pursue the case until those responsible are held accountable.

Speaking to the media on the occasion of his son’s Chehlum, Mir Hussain said the past 40 days had passed without the family realizing how quickly time had gone. He said the family had been seeking justice since the first day and would continue the struggle until the very end.

“We have had our son’s grave exhumed, and we will get justice,” Mir Hussain said reiterating the family’s determination to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mir Raza’s death.

He explained that the family would not hold a protest on the occasion of the Chehlum and had announced an end to the protest in view of the 40th-day observance. He appealed to the public to pray for justice for Mir Raza.

Mir Hussain also said the family was making every possible effort to have a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to investigate the case. According to him, the findings of the judicial commission supported what the family had been saying from the beginning.

He questioned why the direction of the investigation had allegedly been changed when according to the family it had become clear from the outset that Mir Raza had been murdered.

The victim’s father said that when the family demanded the formation of a JIT, authorities instead proceeded toward a judicial commission. He reiterated that the family had taken the difficult step of having their son’s grave exhumed and would continue pursuing justice.

Mir Hussain further claimed that several issues were gradually coming to light. He alleged that negligence involving Dr Usama and the Johar police station had also emerged during the proceedings.

He said the family remained focused on the facts of the case and would not be influenced by statements made by Mir Raza’s partner.

The family’s demands for further investigation and accountability continue as authorities face pressure to clarify the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death. Mir Hussain maintained that the family would continue its legal and investigative efforts until it received justice for Mir Raza.
