Murree crackdown, vapes and flavoured cigarettes seized

RAWALPINDI: The Director General of Punjab CNF, the Narcotics Control Station Murree has launched an awareness campaign to protect the younger generation from the growing trend of drug use and vaping.

As part of the campaign, a team from the Narcotics Control Station Murree visited various educational institutions in Murree city. During briefings, school principals expressed serious concern over the increasing use of vapes and flavored cigarettes among young students. The principals stated that these products are easily available at shops and pose serious risks to the physical and mental health of students.

With the aim of protecting students future, the Director of the Narcotics Control Station Murree conducted surprise inspections of shops located on Mall Road and Cart Road and carried out detailed checks. During the inspections, a large quantity of vapes, flavours, and prohibited cigarettes was recovered and confiscated.

The shopkeepers involved were issued strict warnings and were cautioned that any future violation would result in stringent legal action.

On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner Murree also took immediate notice and directed PEERA authorities to take prompt action against all such shopkeepers and seal their shops.

It is pertinent to mention that, on the special directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the sale of vapes and flavored cigarettes has been completely banned across the province.

According to the spokesperson, the Narcotics Control Station Murree is committed to continuing its awareness campaigns and crackdowns without interruption in order to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs.
