The Pakistan armed forces launched a major operation against Afghan Taliban fighters in Jalalabad, dealing significant damage, according to state-run PTV. Security sources reported that an ammunition depot and a drone storage facility were destroyed during full-scale aerial strikes.
The military statement said the action was in response to Taliban aggression. “Our effective counter-attacks have inflicted heavy losses on the Afghan Taliban and Kharijite rebels,” officials added.
In a separate incident, a police constable was martyred in Tank during a late-night attack on Mulazai police station. Armed assailants opened fire from two sides, prompting police personnel inside to engage in a fierce exchange of gunfire.
Constable Jehanzaib, who was on duty at the time, was critically injured during the assault and later succumbed to his injuries. His funeral prayers were offered with full official honours at the Police Lines, marking the loss of a brave officer.
