Pakistan and Russia have agreed to strengthen cooperation on illegal immigration, deportation of undocumented individuals, and counter-narcotics efforts.
The agreement was signed during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev. The meeting took place on the sidelines of a regional security forum in Kyrgyzstan.
Both sides discussed ways to improve coordination between law enforcement agencies. They also agreed to enhance information sharing to tackle illegal migration networks and drug trafficking.

In talks with Tajikistan, both sides expressed concern over militant activity in Afghanistan. They said several terrorist groups are active there. They warned that these groups pose a serious threat to regional stability.
They also highlighted the issue of drug production in Afghanistan. Both ministers said it is a growing security concern for neighbouring countries.
In his meeting with Uzbekistan’s interior minister, cooperation between law enforcement agencies was discussed. Both countries agreed to increase joint training and coordination.
During discussions with Kazakhstan, both sides focused on illegal immigration. They agreed to set up a joint working group to improve cooperation on border management.
In a separate meeting with Kyrgyzstan’s interior minister, Pakistan thanked Kyrgyzstan for hosting the SCO meeting. Naqvi also congratulated Kyrgyzstan on becoming a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Officials said Pakistan remains committed to regional cooperation under the SCO framework. Naqvi reaffirmed support for mutual trust, equal partnership, and respect for sovereignty.
The meetings reflect Pakistan’s efforts to strengthen regional security cooperation. The focus remains on tackling cross-border crime, terrorism, and drug trafficking.
