PCB announces long-term training camps for National Cricketers in Lahore

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the organization of long-term training camps at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore to improve the performance of national teams and prepare players for upcoming international assignments.

According to details, separate camps will be held for red-ball and white-ball cricketers with a total of 49 players participating. The red-ball camp will begin on June 8 while white-ball players will join from June 15. After that, both camps will run simultaneously.

The red-ball camp will continue until July 10 after which a special pre-tour camp will be held ahead of the two-match Test series against West Indies. The Pakistan team is expected to depart for the West Indies around July 15.

On the other hand, the white-ball camp will continue until September 18 to prepare players for the Asian Games T20 tournament and a likely tri-nation ODI series involving Sri Lanka and England. Red-ball head coach Sarfraz Ahmed and white-ball head coach Mike Hesson will supervise their respective camps.

Initially, 22 players have been selected for the red-ball camp and 27 players for the white-ball camp. ODI captain Shaheen Afridi is included in the initial white-ball squad however, he is expected to also work on his bowling during the camp.

Red-ball camp players include Aamer Jamal, Abdullah Faizal, Abrar Ahmed, Ali Usman, Emad Butt, Azan Awais, Babar Azam, Imam-ul-Haq, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Owais Zafar, Mohammad Ghazi Ghori, Obaid Shah, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saqib Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shah Nawaz Dhani, Shehzad Gul and Shan Masood.

White-ball camp players include Abdul Samad, Abdul Subhan, Ahmed Daniyal, Aaqif Javed, Ali Raza, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram, Fakhar Zaman, Farhan Yousuf, Haider Ali, Hassan Nawaz, Khawaja Mohammad Nafe, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Razaullah, Rohail Nazir, Saad Baig, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Sameer Minhas, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shaheen Hussain, Sufiyan Muqeem and Usman Khan.
