The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that young left-handed batter Maaz Sadaqat will remain away from cricketing activities for at least two weeks following a successful appendicitis surgery at a local hospital in Lahore.
According to the PCB, Maaz Sadaqat has also been ruled out of the National T20 Cup 2025–26 final being played at Gaddafi Stadium due to this medical issue.
The PCB stated that the all-rounder had participated in training with the Abbottabad squad on Saturday night where he joined as a replacement for Fakhar Zaman. However, on Sunday morning, he experienced severe pain in the lower abdomen.
After medical examination and scans, doctors following consultation with the PCB medical team recommended immediate surgery. His condition is now reported to be stable and he is under the care of the PCB medical team.
It is worth noting that Maaz Sadaqat recently opened the batting in the ODI series against Australia.
