PM seeks business community’s support for development

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently held a meeting with federal and provincial cabinet members in Karachi, where he highlighted the need for the business community to play a key role in the development of Pakistan. He stated the importance of transparency in the privatization process to boost the country’s growth.

During his speech, the Prime Minister stated that it is not the government’s role to run industries, but rather to provide policies that support economic growth. He acknowledged that Pakistan is lagging behind in terms of development and stressed the need to address poverty and the country’s mounting debt.

Renowned businessman Arif Habib also attended the meeting and suggested that improving relations with neighboring countries, especially India, could have a positive impact on Pakistan’s development. He also recommended engaging in dialogue with Imran Khan, the founder of the opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Sharif expressed eagerness to explore opportunities for collaboration with the business community and other stakeholders to propel Pakistan towards greater prosperity.
