ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of Shahid Akhtar, the brother of former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.

In a message of condolence issued on Thursday, the prime minister extended his heartfelt sympathies to Shoaib Akhtar and the bereaved family during this difficult time. He prayed for the departed soul and asked Allah Almighty to grant the deceased the highest ranks in Jannah.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also prayed for strength and patience for the family to bear the loss with courage and fortitude.
