PM Shehbaz sought guidance on COAS appointment from Nawaz Sharif, says Khawaja Asif

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had come to London and met with Nawaz Sharif to discuss and seek guidance on the appointment of the new Army Chief.

Speaking on a private TV channel Asif said that detailed meetings were held between the senior leadership of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N). he said that he himself was present in the meetings that were presided over by PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif, PM Shehbaz Sharif.

He said that other senior party members had also participated in the meetings.

PM Shehbaz reached London yesterday after completing his two days visit to Sharm Al Sheikh Egypt for the COP 27 conference that was chaired and co-chaired by Egypt and Pakistan respectively.

According to reports, PM Shehbaz has held at least two long meetings with Nawaz Sharif. They had discussed the political situation of the country including PTI’s long march.

Nawaz Sharif had directed his younger brother Shehbaz to continue serving for the betterment of the people. He had urged to focus on economic stability.
