According to reports family sources confirmed the death of the veteran PML-N politician who was elected from Gujranwala on the party’s ticket in the 2024 general elections.
Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk secured 109,704 votes in the 2024 election from NA-77 Gujranwala-I. Independent candidate Rashida Tariq finished second with 91,825 votes while Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Imtiaz Safdar Warraich received 17,059 votes.
His election victory secured his place in the National Assembly as a representative of the Gujranwala constituency.
The news of Virk’s death has prompted condolences from political circles and supporters in Gujranwala. Further details regarding his funeral prayers and burial arrangements are expected to be announced by the family.
