Pollen concentration threatens lives in Islamabad

The pollen levels in Islamabad have surged, posing a significant health risk to allergy sufferers.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, the concentration of pollen has soared to 48,351 in the capital city, with expectations of further increases due to seasonal changes.

Those with pollen allergies are urged to take necessary precautions.

The dominant pollen types include Paper Mulberry, Acacia, Eucalyptus, Pines, Grasses, Cannabis, Dandelion, and Alternaria.

Paper Mulberry particularly contributes to the highest pollen count.

Other species such as Cannabis, Grasses, Alternaria, and Pine also contribute to varying degrees of pollen concentration.

The recent wet weather offers some relief to allergy sufferers, as rainy or windless conditions limit pollen dispersal, unlike hot, dry, and windy weather which exacerbates allergy symptoms.
