PPP unveils 35 candidates for AJK elections 2026

In the Kotli Division, Malik Zafar has been nominated for LA-8, Javed Iqbal Bhadhanvi for LA-9, Chaudhry Yasin for both LA-10 and LA-12,

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has officially announced 35 candidates for the 2026 Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections, naming nominees for constituencies across Mirpur, Bhimber, Kotli, Bagh, Sudhnoti, Poonch, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Jammu, and the Valley.

According to the party’s candidate list, Afsar Shahid will contest from LA-1 Mirpur-I, Qasim Majeed from LA-2 Mirpur-II (Chakswari), Yasir Sultan from LA-3 Mirpur City, Chaudhry Sohaib Arshad from LA-4 Khari Sharif, and Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf from LA-5 Bhimber-I (Barnala).

In the Kotli Division, Malik Zafar has been nominated for LA-8, Javed Iqbal Bhadhanvi for LA-9, Chaudhry Yasin for both LA-10 and LA-12, and Chaudhry Akhlaq for LA-11.

For constituencies in Bagh, Sudhnoti, and Poonch, the party awarded tickets to Sardar Qamar Zaman, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Amjad Yousaf, Sardar Saud Sadiq, Sardar Yaqoob, Sardar Muhammad Abid Khan, and Sardar Faheem Akhtar Rabbani.

PPP also announced candidates for Neelum Valley and Muzaffarabad, including Mian Abdul Waheed, Sardar Javed Ayub, Syed Bazil Naqvi, Sardar Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, Mubashir Munir Awan, Ashfaq Zafar, and Dewan Ali Chughtai.

For the Jammu refugee seats, the party nominated Colonel (Retd.) Qadeer Chauhan, Chaudhry Asif Gujjar, Chaudhry Ahsan Ismail Gujjar, Shaheen Kausar Dar, Raja Shahid Iqbal Advocate, and Chaudhry Fakhar Zaman.

Meanwhile, Amir Abdul Ghaffar Lone, Ghulam Abbas Mir, Javed Butt, Muhammad Rashid Islam Butt, and Abdul Majeed Khan have been selected to contest from the Valley constituencies.

PPP leadership directed all candidates to launch an energetic election campaign, expressing confidence that the party would secure strong public support and perform successfully in the upcoming AJK elections.
