Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called on the government to immediately reduce the prices of petroleum products, saying that citizens are facing severe financial pressure due to rising fuel costs.

The party urged authorities to announce a significant cut in petrol and diesel prices without delay. It said that relief in fuel rates is essential to ease inflation and support the struggling public.

PTI also demanded a reduction in the petroleum levy and other indirect taxes imposed on fuel. The party claimed that the petroleum levy has now exceeded Rs100 per litre, which it described as an excessive burden on consumers.

In its statement, PTI accused the government of increasing fuel taxes to hide its policy failures. It alleged that repeated tax hikes on petroleum products are contributing directly to inflation across the country.

The party further called for the immediate withdrawal of additional charges, including the climate support levy. It argued that such levies are unnecessary and are adding further pressure on already overburdened citizens.

PTI maintained that reducing fuel prices and eliminating extra taxes would provide much-needed relief to the public and help stabilize the overall cost of living.
