PTI wing allegedly planned attack on GHQ, says Malik Amin Aslam

Malik Amin Aslam, former federal minister for climate change and a close associate of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has alleged that a PTI wing had planned attacks on GHQ and other military installations.

The plan was allegedly leaked before it could be carried out, while the same wing had informed young people about the locations that were to be targeted, he said.

Malik Amin Aslam expressed these views while the media Talk along with Raja Amir Ali and Dr,khuram Hayat Raja Tahir Advocate at Hassan Abdal. He said that he and other leaders like him had been kept away from such planning and policies because he had always preferred politics based on development and dialogue over confrontational politics.

Malik Amin Aslam said the Supreme Court had ensured the rule of law by granting Imran Khan his due right. As a former prime minister, Imran Khan should be provided with full medical and healthcare facilities, he said, adding that doing so was a matter of justice.

He urged the government not to challenge the court’s decision and instead ensure its implementation.

He said he had previously advised PTI leaders, and reiterated his advice, to abandon confrontational politics and adopt a positive approach based on peaceful dialogue and political reforms.

PTI is a major political party, but a business (dhanda) has started operating in the name of Imran Khan within the party in the form of different groups. Lawyers and YouTubers are also part of this business. YouTubers are increasing their earnings, while PTI workers continue to face difficulties,” he said. He also alleged that PTI had used social media for negative propaganda. Responding to a question, Malik Amin Aslam said the public, PTI and the establishment had now reached a consensus on the need for the creation of new provinces.

However, he said the real obstacles were those who consume provincial funds and those who fear that their political power and positions could be threatened by the creation of new provinces.He said the present government had no interest in creating new provinces.

PTI should abandon aggressive politics, including confrontational tactics involving sticks and force, and become part of the political process through negotiations,” he said. Malik Amin Aslam said the creation of new provinces was extremely important and would help reduce the difficulties faced by the people. However, he added that even after new provinces were established, there could be no guarantee that the direction and functioning of the bureaucracy would automatically be corrected. Malik Amin Aslam said he had advised Imran Khan to condemn the May 9 incidents and publicly dissociate PTI from them.

Because of the May 9 incident and the subsequent failure to condemn it, PTI has found itself in a dead end,” he said.

However, responding to a question about those arrested in connection with the May 9 incident, he said only the investigative agencies could clarify whether the arrested individuals were actually involved in the incident.He reiterated that he and other leaders had been kept away from the alleged planning, saying he had always remained focused on development, dialogue and the problems of his constituency.

I have always preferred politics of development and dialogue over politics of confrontation. I have always remained focused on the problems of my area and raised my voice in Parliament for the rights of its people,” he said.Regarding the Pakistan Peoples Party’s allegations of the use of Form 47 in the recent Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, Malik Amin Aslam said the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) both frequently level such allegations against each other. Commenting on Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s recent meetings with Mahmood Khan Achakzai and the PTI leadership, he said that if the PPP and PTI formed an alliance in Punjab, they could give the PML-N a tough time.

Malik Amin Aslam also criticized ongoing development projects in Attock city, Hassan Abdal and other areas, alleging that millions of rupees were being wasted in the name of development.He criticized the use of substandard materials and poor planning, saying that government investment would also be wasted if such practices continued. He said he had always remained interested in the problems of his area and would continue to raise his voice in Parliament for the rights and development of the local people.
