Punjab holds provincial Naatia competition to promote Seerat-e-Tayyaba among youth

According to officials, a special facility has been introduced on the Punjab Emergency Helpline 15 to provide immediate psychological support.

LAHORE: Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta has said that the Seerat of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) provides an everlasting source of guidance for humanity and can help young people develop strong character and build a brighter future.

He made the remarks while addressing the Annual Provincial Naatia Competition organised by Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation Lahore in collaboration with the Auqaf & Religious Affairs Department, Government of Punjab, and Pakistan Television Corporation Lahore.

A total of 70 students from across Punjab participated in four categories: boys and girls aged 5–15 and 15–25 years. The participants had previously secured top positions in district-level Naatia competitions and were selected for the provincial contest.

Ali Zain from Lahore secured the top position in the competition.

Dr Bhutta said Naat recitation provides an effective platform for fostering love and respect for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) among young people and strengthening their connection with Seerat-e-Tayyaba. He added that such competitions encourage youth to engage in positive activities while promoting Islamic values, discipline and good character.

He appreciated the efforts of the district Auqaf teams in identifying talented Naat reciters and organising the preliminary competitions.

He further announced that the provincial winners from each category will represent Punjab at the national-level Naatia Competition in Islamabad next Friday. He expressed confidence that they would showcase their talent and bring honour to the province.
