Saad Rafique demands for restoration of X

Khawaja Saad Rafique, a prominent leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has urged the government to lift the ban on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

Saad Rafique took to the platform X to express his view that the ban on Twitter in the country, imposed during the caretaker period, has not been beneficial for anyone.

He stated the need to avoid unnecessary conflicts and stated that political battles should be conducted through political means.

Despite reports submitted by the Ministry of Interior and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) yesterday, a final decision regarding the restoration of Twitter’s service, referred to as X in the statement, has not been reached.

It is important to note that the service of Twitter (X) has been suspended throughout Pakistan since February 17, with partial restoration attempts made over the past two months but not leading to full functionality.
