Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been given new responsibilities in the Pakistan Cricket Board.

According to sources, he will now look after the affairs of both Pakistan Shaheens and the Pakistan Under-19 team.

Sarfaraz has been officially appointed as the in-charge of both squads.

He will supervise the coaches of the two teams. He will also review their training plans and upcoming tours.

Sources say he will be allowed to travel with the teams on international tours whenever needed.

Sarfaraz will also stay with the squads during training camps and home series in Pakistan. His role will focus on guiding young players and improving the structure of both teams.

Earlier, Former captain and wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed will once again represent Pakistan on the field, as he joins the Pakistan Champions team for the upcoming World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. The tournament will be held in England from July 18 to August 2.

The team announced Sarfaraz’s return through a fun social media post, saying:

“He is back behind the stumps… and probably shouting ‘only one, only one!’ already. Everyone’s favourite Sarfaraz Ahmed returns — and so does the energy we all love.”

Sarfaraz is well-known for leading Pakistan to victory against India in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017. He has played 61 T20 Internationals for Pakistan and led the team to 11 straight T20 series wins during his captaincy, beating teams like Australia, New Zealand, and England.
