Senate calls for proposals to establish standing committees

The Senate Secretariat has initiated a call for proposals, inviting parliamentary leaders to submit their recommendations by May 10 for the establishment of standing committees following the convening of the National Assembly.

Media reports, citing sources within the Senate Secretariat, indicate that a total of 36 standing committees, along with four active committees, are set to be established within the upper house of parliament.

Furthermore, the report suggests that the opposition has already submitted initial proposals to the Senate Chairman regarding the composition of the standing committees.

In line with historical precedence, it is customary for relevant committees to be allocated to the opposition, reflecting a tradition upheld in past parliamentary sessions.
